A Palestinian child was injured on Tuesday night after an Israeli military shell struck his home, a Palestinian official said.
A medic in Beit Hanoun hospital said the child was taken to hospital with severe injuries, including a broken jaw and skull.
The child was brought to the scene by his family, the medic said.
The IDF has not said when the incident took place or who was behind the shell.
The shell was fired by Israeli forces in the northern Gaza Strip.
A day earlier, an Israeli soldier was killed when a rocket landed near a bus in the city of Sderot.
